This Sydney Blue Gum is located in the Royal Botanical Gardens in South Yarra. It is one of the tallest specimens onsite and is likely to be part of the original tree planting in the gardens. It is estimated to be between 150 to 175 years old.
The prominent location and significance of the tree has prompted an assessment to determine the condition of the tree and works required.
A ground based and aerial inspection was conducted to assess tree structure and health. A Condition Assessment Report was produced to provide recommendations on future management. Picus sonic tomography was also conducted to assess the internal structure of the tree.
